The one I have is my first one. Have grown a lot of leaves now. If I feel any moisture then I’ll wait a couple of days and check again. It’s odd, her trunk is so long with all her big, beautiful leaves concentrated at the top – haven’t had the heart to cut them all off.Every time you walk past your FLF give the trunk a little shake. He was doing really well but I have yet to find a pot to transplant it into. I for one think it is a beautiful tree but like the fig tree that bears fruit, it seems to like losing its leaves… The fig that bears fruit will loose it leaves in the fall and new one come back in spring… Hope this helps you, I love plants but it is so hard to keep house plants in the house that are tropical of nature since they need more moisture… Good luck. My large fig tree grows straight up, no side branches. I think it depends on how curious (young?) I repotted it yesterday.Please let me know your thoughts and when I should repot! Her leaves perked up over night. ???
Good luck with Figgy! By the next day it feels dry again. I am always amazed at what a difference a little (regularly applied!) Pour dirt all around the sides, making sure your tree stays straight. I don’t fertilize, don’t mist, rarely rotate it, water thoroughly once per week. The roots like to be somewhat snug in the pot. I’ve also given some liquid fertilizer. We’ve all been there- I have all silk in the house and a few limping houseplants out on the lanai and I live in Florida where sun is NOT a problem!

I grew mine became a 12 foot monster!Yes mine is growing well. Thank you for the insight on how to prune! I live in MA and keep mine in our dining room (south facing) so they get lots of light but not direct sun. I leave it in the sink to drain completely (it takes an hour or so) and then return it back to its spot.

The solution? You can pot your cutting once the roots have grown a little bit (I like the roots to be at least 3-4 inches long before I pot it).
