For biblical movie buffs, I highly recommend a viewing of this excellent film! Another amazing movie I order, my parents love this movie and I like this movie so thank you very much. Gentle humor is often employed in its scenes, as the plot thickens with the destructive plans of the wicked Haman (may his name and memory be erased). Not bad as a film, but this strays much further than most from the biblical/historical story. We like how modest Esther was portrayed, and not like" One night with the king", which in my opinion was a disaster, and this comes from someone that was born in Persia(present day Iran). The righteous Jew Mordecai and the despicable Haman square off for control of the young Persian King Xerxes. Will she be able to stop the evil Lord Haman's plot to exterminate the Jews? Queen Esther and Mordecai, her male guardian who raised her, are the unforgettable heroes, and their story is well told in "The Book of Esther." Not bad as a film, but this strays much further than most from the biblical/historical story. Let me put it this way, it was FAR more accurate than the 1956 Ten Commandments and with far less budget. The music was great.
It doesn't follow the Bible narrative exactly, but the producers let you know that before the movie begins. They had to make this story into a movie, that is easier said than done.
