But the father is strict and doesn't like his catholic daughter hanging out with a Jewish boy God this book traumatized me when I read it in the fifth grade. The author placed quotes from actual refugees and Oswegons at the beginning of each chapter. Mazer's is for younger children and focuses on the experience at Oswego. USA and CANADA saw two suns. But once I started reading I realized that even though that was the central theme the main plot was about a 15 year old girl wanting to be in love and to be kissed.
