Production values were very good and I thought the script was more original than most of what is being passed off as a horror movie nowadays. If you think about this premise you could be forgiven for thinking it would turn out crap, especially with Eddie Murphy involved.

Yes movies have been done better year before Haunted Mansion and yes Haunted Mansion was done by Disney for something like 90Million, but it was still a good movie for the family. A group of young people on retreat in a remote house find themselves haunted by a restless spirit. The point of Haunted Mansion is for audiences to sit back and enjoy the ride, which is easy to do thanks to an engaging story, the striking, Gothic-inspired set by Oscar-winner John Myhre and some delightful special effects. full of awesome special effects but sadly not the best film around. When a Disney ride becomes a movie, there's not much hope that things will turn out as well as they do in this tame horror comedy.

But how did that ghostly horse drawn hearse crash through the walls of the mansion complete with Murphy and co inside?. To impress a foxy divorcee, ladies' man Nick offers to take her kids on an extended road trip, unaware of the torture he's in for.
